Cascade Hospital for Animals’ Adoption Program Policies:
Prospective owners must have spayed or neutered previous or current pets, and have kept their pet’s vaccines current. We will require the name and phone number of your veterinarian.
How to adopt:
Ø Ask a Veterinary Assistant to help you pick out the puppy or kitten you are interested in adopting. We are happy to let you get acquainted with the pet and will let you visit in the comfort of one of our exam rooms, if available.
Ø Read and sign the Spay/Neuter Agreement and pay the $75.00 Adoption Fee which covers routine care, medicine, exams, de-worming, parasite prevention, Felv/FIV test (kittens), and vaccinations current for the pet’s age.
Ø A Veterinary Assistant will set up a Doctor’s appointment for the next day to pick up your new family member. All adopting clients are required to have an appointment with a veterinarian the following day to pick up your pet. THERE IS NO EXTRA CHARGE. This gives you the opportunity to go over pet care, discuss vaccines, spaying and neutering, and gives you time to prepare for your new family member. It also gives us a chance to bathe your new pet so he/she is clean, and also to make sure he/she is up to date on vaccines.
Ø Go home and prepare for your new family member’s arrival the next day!
Ø When you come in for your appointment to pick up your new family member, you will be given a puppy or kitten kit with valuable information on raising and training your new family member. The Doctor will go over this with you, and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
We take our pet adoptions very seriously, and want to insure that all is going well for you, your family, and your new four-legged family member. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the care of your pet, or concerns about integrating him/her into your family, please don’t hesitate to contact us at (616)949-0960. We’re here to help!
